Kang Ning Yong, NCTM, is a pianist and educator serving the Oxford, West Chester, Liberty, Mason, and Cincinnati areas in Ohio. Her teaching is guided by a commitment to artistic integrity, disciplined technique, and the thoughtful cultivation of each student’s musical voice.

At Kang Ning Piano Studio, instruction is highly individualized, integrating technical refinement with expressive depth and musical understanding. Lessons are offered in both in-person and online formats, providing a focused and supportive environment for serious study. She works with students of all ages to develop artistry, confidence, and a lasting engagement with the piano.

    My Bio

    Kang Ning Yong is a pianist and nationally certified music educator dedicated to cultivating artistry and excellence in piano education. Based in Oxford, Ohio, she directs a private piano studio in West Chester, serving students across Oxford, West Chester, Liberty, Mason, and the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. Her studio emphasizes a holistic, student-centered approach that integrates musicianship, creativity, and technical development. She holds certifications as a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM), Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Certified Teacher, and Music for Young Children (MYC) Certified Teacher.

    Under her guidance, students have earned top prizes in regional and international competitions, received invitations to perform at prestigious events, advanced to regional semi-finals, and achieved outstanding results in Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations, including numerous First Class Honours and Distinction awards.

    In addition to her studio work, Kang Ning serves as adjunct faculty at Miami University and Northern Kentucky University, where she teaches Aural Skills and Beginning Piano for Non-Majors and collaborates as a pianist in choral and instrumental settings. She is Principal Pianist of the Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC), an award-winning ensemble-in-residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), recognized for its artistic excellence and community engagement.

     

    Kang Ning is the USA Chapter Co-Founder of the East United International Music Competition (EUIMC), an international platform dedicated to fostering musical excellence, educational exchange, and performance opportunities for young musicians worldwide. She has also served as an adjudicator for regional music festivals and international online competitions, offering evaluative insight grounded in pedagogical rigor and performance artistry.

    Originally from Malaysia, Kang Ning holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Miami University and a Bachelor of Music from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She also holds the LTCL Performer’s Diploma in Piano with distinction from Trinity College London.

    An active collaborative pianist and educator, she frequently performs throughout the Cincinnati region and is engaged in pedagogy development, workshops, and curriculum leadership. Her work is guided by a commitment to fostering meaningful musical growth and artistic connection across communities.s.
