Spring 2026 has been an exciting and rewarding semester at Kang Ning Piano Studio. I am incredibly proud of the dedication, perseverance, and musical growth demonstrated by all of our students throughout the year. From recitals and examinations to competitions and summer opportunities, students have continued to achieve remarkable milestones both locally and internationally.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
University Studies
This spring, one graduating senior earned a Gold Rating at the ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble Contest and was selected to perform at the Honor Recital. He will attend Indiana University Bloomington this fall and continue piano studies as a minor alongside his university coursework.
Another graduating senior has been accepted to the University of Cincinnati, where he will pursue a degree in Engineering while continuing their musical journey.
Summer Music Opportunities
One student was accepted into the Oxford Institute for Music Education Summer Piano Camp at Miami University, where he will study with Professor Siok Lian Tan and participate in masterclasses.
National Federation of Music Clubs Festival
One student earned a fifth consecutive Superior Rating at the 2026 National Federation of Music Clubs Festival and was selected to perform at the State Recital at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
East United International Music Competition (EUIMC)
Several students participated in the East United International Music Competition (EUIMC) USA Chapter this spring, with one student receiving the Grand Prize Award and a $500 cash prize.
In addition, four students were invited to advance to the International European Music Competition in Hamburg, Germany, on July 23, 2026, representing the studio on an international stage.
Carmel Klavier Competition
One student has advanced to the Carmel Klavier Competition Semi-Finals in Carmel, Indiana, and will compete on June 24, 2026.
Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations
Two students who completed Royal Conservatory of Music examinations this spring earned Distinction results in Levels 5 and 8.
Looking Ahead
While awards and performances are exciting milestones, the greatest accomplishment is the growth each student demonstrates through consistent effort, curiosity, and dedication to their musical development. I am grateful to all students and families for their continued trust and support and look forward to another year of music-making together.
